Octoplay Enters Alberta With Seven Major Operators on Day One

Octoplay has entered Alberta’s newly regulated iGaming market with an unusually strong launch, going live with seven major operators from the first day of the province’s market opening.

BetMGM, FanDuel, DraftKings, Betty, Rush Street Interactive, Penn and Bet365 have all launched Octoplay’s content, giving the studio an immediate presence across some of the market’s biggest platforms.

The coordinated rollout marks Octoplay’s largest market entry to date and makes Alberta the company’s 20th regulated jurisdiction.

Seven Operators Go Live at Once

The scale of the launch is the standout feature of Octoplay’s Alberta debut.

The studio is entering the market alongside seven tier-one operators, including several brands with which it already works in other regulated jurisdictions. Penn also represents a new tier-one partnership for Octoplay.

CEO Ralitsa Georgieva said having seven leading operators live from the opening day reflects the confidence major brands have placed in Octoplay’s content and its ability to meet the demands of regulated-market launches.

For the studio, the strategy provides immediate distribution rather than building its Alberta presence operator by operator.

Alberta Becomes Octoplay’s 20th Market

Octoplay secured a conditional licence for Alberta in June 2025, months before the province opened its regulated iGaming market.

The approval allowed the supplier to prepare for launch well in advance and positioned it among the first studios ready to enter Alberta when the market went live.

With Alberta now operational, Octoplay’s regulated footprint has reached 20 markets, spanning Europe, North America and other international jurisdictions.

Its active markets include the UK, New Jersey, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Ontario, Alberta, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Greece, Croatia, Romania, Malta, Slovakia, Georgia and Brazil.

Another Step in Octoplay’s North American Expansion

Alberta also completes another stage of Octoplay’s North American expansion.

The company first entered Ontario in 2023 before moving into the US through New Jersey with BetMGM. Its US footprint later expanded with a simultaneous Michigan launch in December 2025 alongside BetMGM, FanDuel, Fanatics and Rush Street Interactive.

The Alberta launch now gives Octoplay four active regulated markets in the region.

With seven major operators already carrying its content, Alberta represents the studio’s biggest coordinated entry in North America so far and gives Octoplay a broad starting position as the province’s regulated iGaming market develops.
