Games Global is expanding its regulated Canadian presence after securing approval from the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC), clearing the way for its casino content to enter Alberta’s newly opened iGaming market.
The licence gives Alberta operators access to Games Global’s portfolio of online casino titles, as well as live casino content supplied through its exclusive partner, OnAir Entertainment.
Games Global adds Alberta to Canadian footprint
Alberta launched its regulated competitive iGaming market on 13 July 2026, becoming only the second Canadian province to open its online gambling sector to multiple operators after Ontario.
The market operates under a dual-track model, with the AGLC responsible for regulation while the Alberta iGaming Corporation (AiGC) manages commercial relationships with operators and suppliers.
Games Global already has an established presence in Ontario, making Alberta the company’s second regulated Canadian market. The latest approval also strengthens its wider North American expansion strategy.
Popular slots heading to Alberta
Players in Alberta will gain access to several established Games Global franchises, including Gold Blitz, 12 Masks of Fire and Fishin’ Pots of Gold.
The supplier will also make live casino content available through OnAir Entertainment. The studio’s live tables are already distributed by Games Global in other Canadian markets and will now be offered to Alberta operators.
The move gives local operators access to a mix of established slot titles and live casino products as competition in the province’s newly regulated market develops.
North America remains a key growth market
Games Global Chief Commercial Officer Mark MacCombie said Alberta represents an opportunity to build on the company’s existing momentum in Ontario.
He added that North America remains a strategic priority for the business, with Games Global continuing to work with operators and studio partners across regulated markets.
The Alberta approval follows the company’s entry into the US market in 2024, where it has since expanded its operator network across regulated states.
Games Global was established in 2021 and acquired Microgaming’s distribution business and game intellectual property in 2022. The company now works with 42 in-house and partner studios and has a portfolio of more than 1,300 games covering slots, table games, progressive jackpots, crash games and live casino.
With Alberta now added to its regulatory footprint, Games Global is positioned to further develop its presence across Canada’s growing regulated iGaming sector.
