The new Premier League season is almost here, and the early betting markets have already started to paint a picture of how bookmakers expect the 2026/27 title race to unfold.
Arsenal enter the campaign as the team to beat after winning their first Premier League title in 22 years. Manchester City remain their biggest challenger despite a major change in the dugout, while Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are all being priced as realistic contenders rather than distant outsiders.
The current Premier League title odds make Arsenal clear favourites at 2.25, followed by Manchester City at 4.50 and Liverpool at 6.00. Manchester United are available at 8.00, Chelsea at 9.00 and Tottenham at 21.00.
Further down the market, Aston Villa are priced at 40.00, while Brighton and Newcastle are both at 150.00.
The Golden Boot market is considerably more concentrated. Erling Haaland is the overwhelming favourite at 1.68, with Alexander Isak next at 9.50. Igor Thiago follows at 13.00, Joao Pedro at 15.00 and Ollie Watkins at 17.00.
Those numbers are interesting on their own, but they become much more useful when combined with what happened during the previous Premier League season.
Arsenal begin the season as champions and favourites
There is no mystery about why Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League title odds 2026/27 market.
Mikel Arteta’s side won the 2025/26 Premier League title with 85 points, finishing seven points ahead of Manchester City. Arsenal secured the championship before the final round and eventually lifted the trophy after a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace on the final day. It was the club’s first Premier League title since 2004.
That achievement changes the starting point for the new season.
Arsenal are no longer the team trying to prove they can challenge Manchester City or Liverpool. They are the defending champions, and the question is whether they can turn one successful campaign into sustained dominance.
Their price of 2.25 represents an implied probability of roughly 44.4% before accounting for the bookmaker’s margin.
That should not be interpreted as saying Arsenal have exactly a 44.4% chance of winning the league. Betting odds incorporate the bookmaker’s margin and market dynamics, while the actual probability can only be estimated.
What the number does show is the size of the gap between Arsenal and their closest competitors.
Manchester City are twice the price at 4.50.
Liverpool are at 6.00.
Manchester United and Chelsea are both longer than 8.00.
That makes Arsenal the obvious reference point for anyone following the Premier League title market throughout the season.
Why Arsenal’s 2025/26 campaign matters
The most important part of Arsenal’s title-winning season may not have been the final seven-point margin.
It was their consistency.
Arsenal were already showing their credentials during the 2025 calendar year. They collected 83 points from 39 Premier League matches during the year, while conceding just 30 goals, the fewest among clubs with at least 37 matches. They also scored 71 goals.
That balance between defensive stability and attacking production is important when looking at outright title betting.
A Premier League champion does not simply need a few spectacular performances. Over 38 matches, dropped points against supposedly weaker opponents can be just as important as results against direct rivals.
Arsenal demonstrated that they could consistently collect points.
The question for 2026/27 is whether their rivals can close the gap.
Manchester City are still the biggest threat
Manchester City’s 4.50 price makes them the second favourite in the market.
It would be dangerous to read that simply as a decline in City’s status.
The club finished second last season and still possesses one of the strongest squads in English football. The difference is that the 2026/27 campaign represents a completely different challenge.
Pep Guardiola is gone.
Enzo Maresca is now in charge.
Several experienced players have also left the club, including Rodri, John Stones, Nathan Aké and Bernardo Silva, while Manchester City have invested heavily in rebuilding the squad. Elliot Anderson arrived from Nottingham Forest for a reported £116 million fee, among other changes.
That makes Manchester City one of the most fascinating teams in the Premier League odds market.
There is an obvious upside.
Maresca inherits a squad with enormous quality, and City still have Erling Haaland leading the attack.
But there is also considerably more uncertainty than in previous seasons.
The opening weeks could therefore be particularly important for the title market. A strong start under Maresca could see the 4.50 price shorten quickly, while early problems could push City further away from Arsenal in the outright market.
The Community Shield provided the first competitive meeting between the two teams before the league season, and Arsenal won 3-0. While a single match should not be overinterpreted, it gave Arteta’s side another positive result against their biggest title rival.
Liverpool remain firmly in the conversation
Liverpool are third in the current title market at 6.00.
That is a significant price difference compared with Arsenal, but Liverpool are far from an outsider.
The club won the Premier League in 2024/25 before Arsenal took the title the following season. That recent success means Liverpool have already demonstrated that they can build a title-winning campaign.
They also have recent experience of producing an elite individual goalscorer.
Mohamed Salah scored 29 goals in 2024/25 and won the Golden Boot, ending Haaland’s run at the top of the goalscoring charts.
Liverpool’s challenge in 2026/27 is partly about maintaining their level while adapting to another managerial change. Like Manchester City, they enter the season with a new manager, creating another layer of uncertainty in the outright market.
At 6.00, Liverpool are arguably the team immediately behind the two obvious favourites.
If Arsenal or City struggle during the first part of the campaign, Liverpool are one of the teams most likely to benefit.
Manchester United and Chelsea could make the title race much more complicated
Manchester United are priced at 8.00 and Chelsea at 9.00.
Neither club is currently expected to be the most likely champion, but both are close enough to the leading group to make the market particularly interesting.
Manchester United finished among the Champions League places last season and enter the new campaign under Michael Carrick. A strong continuation of their progress could put them much closer to the leading three than the early odds suggest.
Chelsea are another fascinating case.
The club has enormous individual quality, but converting that talent into the consistency required to win 38 league matches is a different challenge.
At 9.00, however, Chelsea are not being treated as a speculative long shot. The market is effectively saying that a title challenge would be a surprise, but not an extraordinary one.
That distinction matters.
Tottenham at 21.00 are the first major outsider
The gap becomes much more obvious with Tottenham.
At 21.00, Spurs are priced significantly behind Arsenal, City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea.
The implied probability before bookmaker margin is approximately 4.8%.
That does not mean Tottenham have no chance of winning the Premier League.
It means the market expects them to require a combination of strong performances from their own team and problems from several of the favourites.
That is exactly how an outright outsider should be evaluated.
A team does not necessarily have to become the best team in England overnight. It needs to outperform expectations while several rivals underperform.
Aston Villa and the long-shot market
Aston Villa are priced at 40.00, followed by Brighton and Newcastle at 150.00.
Bournemouth are at 200.00, Brentford and Everton at 250.00, while Crystal Palace and Fulham are both at 500.00.
At this point, the market is no longer identifying genuine title favourites.
It is identifying potential extreme surprises.
A 40.00 price on Aston Villa implies a much smaller probability than Tottenham’s 21.00, while the 150.00 price attached to Brighton or Newcastle shows just how wide the gap is between the established title contenders and the rest of the field.
For SEO purposes, this is also an interesting part of the market because title odds pages can expand naturally into team-by-team analysis.
A page targeting Premier League title odds can therefore cover Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool in depth while also providing shorter sections on Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham and the long shots.
That creates a much more useful resource than simply publishing a table of prices.
Haaland starts the Golden Boot race miles ahead
The most striking number in the player market is 1.68.
That is Erling Haaland’s current price to win the Premier League Golden Boot.
The Manchester City striker won the award again in 2025/26 after scoring 27 goals. It was his third Golden Boot in four Premier League seasons, following his victories in 2022/23 and 2023/24.
Only Mohamed Salah and Thierry Henry have won the award four times, meaning Haaland is now one Golden Boot away from joining that group.
The numbers behind Haaland’s record are extraordinary.
He scored 36 goals in his first Premier League season, setting the record for the most goals in a 38-match campaign.
He then followed that with 27 goals in 2023/24.
After Salah’s 29-goal season in 2024/25, Haaland returned to the top with another 27-goal campaign.
And there was another interesting development last season.
Haaland finished 2025/26 with eight assists as well as his 27 goals, giving him 35 total goal involvements. He also registered more shots than any other player in the league.
That makes the 1.68 price understandable.
But it does not automatically make it attractive.
There is a major difference between asking who is most likely to win the Golden Boot and asking which Golden Boot price offers the best value.
Haaland is clearly the first.
The second question is much harder.
Alexander Isak is the obvious challenger
Alexander Isak is priced at 9.50.
That is a huge difference from Haaland.
At 9.50, the implied probability is roughly 10.5% before margin.
Isak therefore represents the market’s clear second tier rather than a direct statistical rival to Haaland.
The interesting thing about the Golden Boot market is that the required goal total can vary significantly from season to season.
The award has been won with 23 goals in recent seasons, while Haaland needed 36 in 2022/23. Salah won it with 29 in 2024/25, while Haaland needed 27 last season.
That means a player does not necessarily need to match Haaland’s best-ever numbers.
If the Norwegian has a relatively quiet season by his standards and another striker reaches the mid-to-high twenties, the market could change dramatically.
That is why Isak at 9.50 is much more interesting than simply looking at the distance between the two prices.
Igor Thiago could be one of the most interesting names in the market
Igor Thiago is priced at 13.00.
That might look surprising to anyone who did not follow the 2025/26 Premier League season closely.
But Thiago finished second in the Golden Boot race last season with 22 goals for Brentford. Haaland led the league with 27, while Thiago’s 22 put him ahead of a large group of established Premier League forwards.
His first full Premier League campaign was particularly impressive.
Among forwards, only Haaland registered more big chances and shots on goal, while Thiago also posted an excellent expected-goals involvement profile. Eight of his 22 goals came from penalties.
That last point is important when assessing his 13.00 price.
Penalty opportunities can have a major influence on a goalscoring market.
If Thiago continues to take penalties and maintains his volume of chances, he has already shown that a 20-plus-goal season is realistic.
The question is whether he can move from 22 goals into the territory required to beat Haaland.
Joao Pedro has room for another step forward
Joao Pedro is priced at 15.00.
That puts him ahead of established names such as Cole Palmer and Kai Havertz in the current Golden Boot market.
His development is therefore worth monitoring.
A goalscorer does not need to suddenly become Haaland to make a major move in the market.
An increase in minutes, penalties, shots, touches inside the box or overall attacking responsibility can be enough to turn a 15-goal player into a 20-plus-goal threat.
That is one of the reasons Golden Boot odds should be viewed dynamically.
The opening price is based on what the market knows today.
It does not know how a player’s role will evolve over the next nine months.
Ollie Watkins remains a proven Premier League goalscorer
Ollie Watkins is priced at 17.00.
He does not have the same explosive reputation as Haaland, but Watkins has something extremely valuable in this market: a long track record of producing goals and assists in the Premier League.
At 17.00, the market is not expecting him to win.
But it is acknowledging that he belongs in the wider group of realistic candidates.
A strong start for Aston Villa could change that quickly.
If Watkins scores six or seven goals in the opening weeks while Haaland or other favourites struggle, the difference between their prices could shrink considerably.
That is how the outright betting market evolves throughout a season.
Gyokeres and Sesko represent the upside plays
Viktor Gyokeres is priced at 20.00, while Benjamin Sesko is at 25.00.
These are very different bets from Haaland.
With Haaland at 1.68, the market is pricing established production.
With Gyokeres and Sesko, there is more emphasis on potential.
Gyokeres has the physical profile and scoring record to become a major Premier League striker, while Sesko is another forward whose development could produce a significant jump.
Neither needs to start the season as a Golden Boot favourite.
They simply need to outperform the market’s current expectations.
That is why these prices become particularly interesting after the first five to ten league matches.
Cole Palmer at 33.00 is an intriguing long shot
Cole Palmer is available at 33.00.
For a player of Palmer’s ability, that is a substantial price.
His biggest advantage is his involvement in Chelsea’s attacking play and his ability to contribute both goals and assists.
Penalty duties can also be important in Golden Boot markets.
The challenge is obvious: Palmer would need a major increase in goalscoring output to compete with Haaland’s usual numbers.
But 33.00 is not asking the market to believe that Palmer is more likely than Haaland.
It is asking whether there is enough upside in the possibility that Chelsea have a much better attacking season and Palmer becomes the central figure in it.
Antoine Semenyo has already shown why he belongs on the list
Antoine Semenyo is also priced at 33.00.
Interestingly, he finished the 2025/26 campaign with 17 Premier League goals and 21 total goal involvements after moving to Manchester City during the season.
His 17 goals also came with a significant xG overperformance: 17 goals from 11.09 expected goals, a difference of 5.91.
That statistic is particularly useful when analysing his 33.00 price.
It suggests that simply repeating last season’s finishing rate would be difficult.
On the other hand, moving into a stronger attacking environment could create more chances.
That makes Semenyo a fascinating player to watch, even if the market currently puts him firmly in long-shot territory.
The remaining names show how deep the Golden Boot market is
Kai Havertz is priced at 35.00, while Dominic Solanke and Danny Welbeck are both at 40.00.
These are long-shot prices, but they demonstrate how broad the Premier League goalscoring market is.
A player priced at 40.00 does not need to be the most talented striker in the league.
He needs the right combination of form, minutes, team performance and opportunity.
That is particularly true in the Golden Boot market because the award is decided over an entire season rather than a short knockout competition.
Title odds and Golden Boot odds tell two different stories
Perhaps the most interesting part of the 2026/27 betting landscape is the contrast between the two markets.
The title market is relatively open.
Arsenal are favourites at 2.25, but Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea all have prices that suggest they remain serious contenders.
The Golden Boot market is completely different.
Haaland is at 1.68.
The next player is Isak at 9.50.
That enormous gap tells us something about how the market views the two competitions.
Arsenal may be the most likely team to win the Premier League, but there is much less certainty over who will finish as the league’s top scorer.
In fact, it is entirely possible for the two markets to produce different winners.
A player can win the Golden Boot without his team winning the league.
That has happened repeatedly throughout Premier League history.
Mohamed Salah won the 2024/25 Golden Boot while Liverpool won the league, but individual and team success have frequently diverged in previous seasons.
The most important Premier League odds may change quickly
The current prices are a starting point rather than a final prediction.
This is particularly important in August.
The Premier League is one of the most liquid and closely followed football betting markets in the world. Results, injuries, transfers, managerial changes and team performances can cause prices to move significantly.
Arsenal’s 2.25 could become shorter after a strong start.
Manchester City’s 4.50 could move dramatically in either direction depending on how quickly Maresca’s team adapts.
Liverpool at 6.00 could become one of the most interesting prices in the market if they establish themselves near the top of the table.
The same applies to the Golden Boot.
Haaland’s 1.68 may become even shorter if he starts the season with a scoring run.
But if another striker scores consistently while City struggle to create chances, the market could look completely different by October.
That is why Premier League odds are best treated as a moving market rather than a static table.
What makes the 2026/27 title race particularly interesting
There is another factor that makes this season unusual.
Several major clubs have changed managers.
Arsenal have stability under Arteta, while Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea all enter the campaign with new managers. Reuters highlighted the scale of the managerial turnover ahead of the season, with nine Premier League clubs introducing new head coaches.
That could make the first few months particularly unpredictable.
New managers often require time to establish tactical ideas, preferred line-ups and playing styles.
Arsenal do not have that problem.
They already know exactly what Arteta wants.
That is one of the reasons the Gunners make sense as the early favourites at 2.25.
The teams and players worth watching
If the goal is to follow the Premier League title odds 2026/27 throughout the season, several names stand out immediately.
Arsenal are the benchmark after winning the title with 85 points.
Manchester City are the biggest challenger but also one of the biggest unknowns after Guardiola’s departure.
Liverpool are close enough to benefit from any slip-up by the leading pair.
Manchester United could become a genuine challenger if last season’s improvement continues.
Chelsea have enough attacking talent to make their 9.00 price interesting.
And in the Golden Boot market:
Erling Haaland remains the obvious favourite after another 27-goal campaign.
Alexander Isak is the closest market challenger at 9.50.
Igor Thiago deserves particular attention after scoring 22 goals last season.
Joao Pedro, Ollie Watkins and Viktor Gyokeres form an interesting second group.
Benjamin Sesko, Cole Palmer and Antoine Semenyo are among the longer-priced players who could move significantly if they start the campaign strongly.
The Premier League title odds are only the beginning
The beauty of the Premier League betting market is that the story changes every week.
At the beginning of the season, Arsenal are the team everyone is trying to catch.
Manchester City are trying to prove that the post-Guardiola era can begin with another title.
Liverpool are attempting to return to the top.
Manchester United and Chelsea are looking to turn potential into consistency.
And behind them, Tottenham, Aston Villa and the rest of the field are hoping to exploit any weakness.
The Golden Boot race is even more intriguing because Haaland starts with such a massive advantage.
The Norwegian has already won the award three times, scored 27 goals last season and finished with 35 total goal involvements.
Yet the history of the Golden Boot shows that even dominant favourites can be beaten.
Salah did it in 2024/25 with 29 goals.
Haaland himself has already shown that 36 goals is possible.
And Igor Thiago’s 22-goal campaign last season proves that the next challenger does not necessarily have to come from the most obvious group of established superstars.
That is what makes the Premier League title odds 2026/27 and Golden Boot markets so compelling.
Arsenal start as the clear favourite for the championship, while Haaland starts as the overwhelming favourite for the individual scoring prize. But both markets will move considerably once competitive football begins.
The prices available today are the first snapshot of the season.
By Christmas, they could tell a completely different story.
