Brazilian gambling authorities have ordered the immediate suspension of 14 licensed betting sites following a series of compliance issues involving regulatory reporting and responsible gambling controls.
The measures were announced by Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) as part of administrative sanctioning proceedings that began in August 2025.
The regulator adopted seven precautionary measures against operators, citing concerns that could affect its ability to monitor the licensed betting market effectively.
Sigap reporting failures at the centre of the action
The majority of the cases involve problems with Sigap, Brazil’s betting management and monitoring system.
Five of the seven precautionary measures relate to operators failing to provide information required through Sigap. The system is used by the SPA to monitor betting activity, including wagering volumes and gross gaming revenue, while also checking compliance with regulatory requirements.
Two additional measures concern shortcomings in the implementation of tools designed to identify, assess and monitor players as part of responsible gambling policies.
The SPA said precautionary measures are intended to protect the public interest when there is a potential risk of harm or a need for immediate intervention. The powers are established under Brazil’s gambling legislation and relevant SPA regulations.
Which operators have been affected?
The measures cover several licensed operators and their respective brands.
Pixbet Soluções Tecnológicas received two precautionary measures, relating to both responsible gambling controls and failures to provide information to Sigap. Its affected brands include pixbet.bet.br, ganhei.bet.br and betdasorte.bet.br.
Zeroumbet Digital Platform, which operates zeroum.bet.br, sportvip.bet.br and energia.bet.br, was sanctioned over missing information required for regulatory monitoring.
Other affected operators include Enseada Serviços e Tecnologia, whose kbet.bet.br brand has been suspended, and Select Operations, which operates mma.bet.br, betvip.bet.br and papigames.bet.br.
The SPA also took action against Nexus International, concerning megaposta.bet.br, after the company failed to submit documentation required through Sigap.
A further case involves RR Participações e Intermediações de Negócios, whose brands include multibet.bet.br, rico.bet.br and brx.bet.br. According to the regulator, the company did not provide documentation necessary to verify its ownership structure and assess several areas of regulatory compliance.
Players can withdraw funds
The suspension does not completely cut off access to the affected platforms.
According to the SPA, the sites must remain accessible for players to withdraw their funds, but their betting operations are suspended while the precautionary measures remain in force.
Operators that fail to comply with the orders could face a daily fine of BRL 200,000, equivalent to roughly US$38,600.
Another test for Brazil’s regulated betting market
The latest action comes as Brazil continues to strengthen supervision of its recently regulated betting sector.
The SPA’s reliance on Sigap reflects the country’s effort to build a more data-driven system in which licensed operators are expected to provide authorities with information needed for real-time oversight.
The cases also underline that regulatory compliance extends beyond licensing itself. Operators are expected to maintain functioning reporting systems, meet responsible gambling obligations and provide the documentation necessary for authorities to assess their ownership, financial and technical qualifications.
For Brazil’s betting industry, the suspension of 14 sites sends a clear signal that holding a licence does not remove the obligation to meet ongoing reporting and player-protection requirements.
