Pragmatic Play has given one of its best-known slots a casual makeover, launching Gates of Olympus POP as the first major franchise title for its recently introduced POP sub-brand.
Just one month after replacing the Fat Panda label with Pragmatic Play POP, the supplier has brought Zeus back in a smaller, faster format designed around mobile-friendly gameplay and shorter sessions.
Zeus gets a new look
Gates of Olympus POP keeps the Greek mythology theme of the original but swaps its familiar 6×5 layout for a more compact 3×5 grid.
The slot features tumbling reels and multiplier symbols reaching up to 1,000x. Players can trigger 15 free spins by landing three or more scatters, while additional scatters during the feature can add five more spins at a time.
The main twist comes from the way multipliers work during the bonus. Instead of being applied immediately, winning multipliers build towards a progressive total, which is then applied as the tumble sequence concludes.
The POP symbol adds another prize layer
The new version also introduces a dedicated POP symbol mechanic.
When the free spins feature is triggered alongside POP symbols, players can receive additional instant prizes. One, two or three POP symbols award 50x, 500x or 25,000x the bet, respectively.
That gives Gates of Olympus POP a potential top prize of 25,000x, despite its considerably more compact format.
From Fat Panda to Pragmatic Play POP
The release marks another step in Pragmatic Play’s effort to build a dedicated casual offering.
The company launched Pragmatic Play POP on 31 July, replacing Fat Panda, which had been introduced in 2025 as a separate label aimed at players looking for simpler mechanics and more accessible gameplay.
The new sub-brand is set to bring familiar Pragmatic Play franchises into this format, with Sweet Bonanza, Starlight Princess, Zeus vs Hades and Mahjong Wins among the titles earmarked for adaptation.
Several original POP games are also planned, including Triple Hop Pots and Pelican Payday.
A familiar franchise with a different target
Gates of Olympus POP is particularly significant because the original Gates of Olympus has become one of Pragmatic Play’s most recognisable titles since its debut in 2021.
Rather than simply reproducing the original formula, the POP version compresses the experience into a more streamlined format while retaining some of its most recognisable elements — including Zeus, tumbling wins and large multipliers.
Sharon McHugh, Director of Public Relations at Pragmatic Play, said the new release “brings a fresh approach” to the franchise through a format focused on fast and intuitive gameplay.
Gates of Olympus POP is now live across Pragmatic Play’s partner network, marking the first established franchise to make the jump into the supplier’s new casual-focused portfolio.
