ICONIC21 has kicked off its new Mythic Link slot series with Mythic Link: Monkey King, combining Free Spins with a Hold & Win feature in a single bonus sequence.
Launched on September 8, the new title takes players into the world of Asian mythology while introducing a format that ICONIC21 plans to develop across future releases in the series.
Monkey King leads the new slot series
The first Mythic Link title is built around the legendary Monkey King, a central figure in Chinese mythology best known from the classic Journey to the West.
Rather than using the character simply as a visual theme, ICONIC21 has paired the mythology-inspired setting with a shared gameplay structure designed to connect the games that will follow.
Each Mythic Link release is expected to stand on its own while retaining the series’ core Link mechanic and mythology-driven concept.
Hold & Win gets a second bonus layer
The main attraction is a Hold & Win feature that can trigger during Free Spins, creating a bonus-within-a-bonus structure.
Instead of treating the two features as separate ways to win, Mythic Link: Monkey King brings them together in the same bonus flow. Players can enter Free Spins before reaching the Hold & Win round, adding another stage to the feature.
The game also comes with four jackpot tiers, giving the Hold & Win round an additional prize structure.
The combination of Free Spins and Hold & Win gives ICONIC21 a different way to use two established slot mechanics, while keeping the gameplay format consistent with the wider Mythic Link concept.
